BACKGROUND
Dr Mordecai is a consultant anaesthetist at University College Hospital London.
Dr Mordecai graduated from Imperial College in 2007 and undertook his training in London. Alongside anaesthetics he has always had an equal interest for non-clinical aspects of the sector which led him to acquire a BSc in Pharmacology and Toxicology with first class honours and a MSc in Health Policy with merit, both from Imperial College as well.
Dr Mordecai took several years out of training to undertake a doctorate at UCL which sought to evaluate a novel inpatient complex pain service at UCH using a mixed methods approach. As a result of this work Camden CCG have since commissioned the service on a permanent basis. The final chapter of his thesis will be submitted shortly.
Dr Mordecai has numerous first author publications in peer reviewed journals and has written multiple book chapter on the societal impact and provision of service in the area of chronic pain. He also works closely with the psycho-pharmacology department at UCL an is medical advisor on a number of on-going trials there.
