Congratulations to CSP Gynaecological Consultant Srdjan Saso, who was part of the team that carried out the first womb transplant in the UK, in which a 40 year old woman donated her uterus to her younger sister in order for her to have children.
The procedure has been hailed a huge success and could see the dawn of a new era in fertility treatment.
Mr Saso’s extensive research and PHD work in the area of gynaecological and fertility sparing surgery laid the groundwork for this procedure and he was proud to be part of the clinical team that carried out the successful 17 hour operation.
