Chelsea Surgical Partners recently delivered the third edition of the Sports Gynaecology Conference in partnership with British Cycling at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.
CSP Founding Consultants Mr Srdjan Saso and Miss Maya Al Memar founded the Sports Gynaecology Conference in 2023 and the event has since grown to become a key annual landmark for the UK elite sports sector to come together, build networks and share knowledge with the aim of driving progress in the provision of female health support to elite athletes across the country.
The 2025 Sports Gynaecology Conference was attended by contacts representing all of the major National Governing Bodies for sport in Great Britain, as well as medics from multiple professional sports organisations and was a resounding success. The gathered audience heard from experts presenting on topics including hormones, menstrual cycle, REDs and integrated gynaecological care for elite athletes and engaged in lively debates, discussing case studies and care provision.
The event concluded with an engaging session where British Cycling's medical team led by Dr Nigel Jones shared the progress they have made with their Female Athlete Health programme across a number of fronts, before GB Cycling Team rider and multiple Olympic medallist Elinor Barker MBE shared her experiences and detailed the support she has recieved from BC as she navigated pregnancy and return to cycling in between the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games.
The team at CSP are very grateful to British Cycling for their support of the 2025 event and looking forward to continuing to build the profile and impact of the Sports Gynaecology Conference into 2026 and beyond.
